The essentials before you start
Does GeoVisit know a person’s exact address?
No. Geolocation is approximate and based on IP. It is designed for analysis by city, region or country, not to locate exact addresses or specific individuals.
Does the visitor have to agree to share their location?
No GPS permission is requested. The browser does not show a “share location” prompt. GeoVisit derives an approximate geographic location from the connection.
Can I track links even if I do not control the destination website?
Yes. Create a GeoVisit tracked link and use it in QR codes, WhatsApp, campaigns or social media. The click is recorded and the visitor is redirected to the destination.
Do I need to install GeoVisit cookies?
No. The GeoVisit tracker does not install cookies or use localStorage. Your website may use its own or third-party cookies, which must be managed separately.
Can GeoVisit notify me when the app is closed?
Yes. If you enable Web Push notifications on your device, GeoVisit can send a system notification when a new visit arrives even when the dashboard is not open. Permission is granted once from the browser or PWA and can be revoked at any time.
What is the difference between GeoVisit and Google Analytics?
The difference is the approach. Google Analytics is a broad platform with a huge range of capabilities. GeoVisit is built to answer the questions a business typically asks every day much more directly: where are my visits coming from, which cities are responding, which campaign is working, which QR code or link is getting clicks, and what is happening right now? If you want immediate clarity and a minimal learning curve, GeoVisit has an advantage precisely because it removes complexity.
Why would GeoVisit be easier for me?
Because you do not have to build reports or learn where every metric is hidden. The map, cities, campaigns, links and recent activity are organised so you can open the dashboard and understand the situation quickly. The goal is to help you make a decision without first becoming an analytics specialist.
Why pay for GeoVisit if Google Analytics is free?
Because GeoVisit’s value is not about giving you more data, but about saving you time and making that data easier to use for decisions. If every week you need to know which area is responding, which campaign deserves attention or which link is generating interest, having that answer visible in seconds can be more valuable than having hundreds of options you never use. You can test it with your own data for 30 days without a card.
Do I have to stop using Google Analytics to use GeoVisit?
No. You can use GeoVisit as your only tool if it covers your needs, or keep Google Analytics and use GeoVisit as the simple dashboard you check every day. You do not have to migrate or give anything up to try it.
What kind of business is GeoVisit best suited to?
Especially small businesses, self-employed professionals, real estate agencies, ecommerce, events, local campaigns, QR and link creators, and agencies that want to show clear results to clients. It is particularly useful when the main question is where people are responding and which action is generating interest.
Is GeoVisit only for marketing experts?
Quite the opposite. It is designed so someone without technical knowledge can understand the dashboard from day one. For an agency or marketing professional, it also works as a quick view that avoids opening more complex reports just to answer simple questions.
What happens when the 30 days end?
You keep your account and existing data, but collection of new visits stops until you activate a plan.
